On November 20-22, PhD Eng. Stachowiak and PhD eng. Joanna Oleśków Szłapka had a working visit to the Fraunhofer IML in Dortmund.

The meeting concerned potential areas of cooperation with both the Fraunhofer Research Institute and the Technische Universitat Dortmund. One of the proposed methods of building mutual cooperation is  the possibility of participation of students of doctoral studies at the Summer School of Graduate School of Logistics on July 8-12, 2019 (people interested please contact agnieszka.stachowiak@put.poznan.pl) and the opportunity to participate in conference Interdisciplinary Conference on Production, Logistics and Traffic (ICPLS 2019) (March 27-28, 2019) - more information at the link - http://www.itl.tu-dortmund.de/cms/icplt/de/home/ index.html
As part of the meeting, modern logistics solutions implemented by the Center Excellence of Logistics were also presented.






Giving the title of Professor of Technical Sciences to

Assoc. Marek Fertsch, D.Sc., Eng.


We are pleased to announce that by order of 29 January 2018, the President of the Republic of Poland gave the Head of the Chair of Production Management and Logistics to Assoc. Marek Fertsch, D.Sc., Eng. scientific title of Professor of Technical Sciences.

Our colleague Assoc. Prof. Paweł Pawlewski, D.Sc., Eng. received the award at the conference "The International Scientific - Technical Conference Manufacturing 2017"




An expert on pension hosted at the Faculty of Engineering Management

Prof. dr. Heinz-Dietrich Steinmeyer at the University of Meunster (Germany), an expert on issues of social security, the CEO of the international association for. Research supplementary pension schemes - European Network for Research on Supplementary Pensions (ENRSP)  hosted at the Faculty of Engineering Management PP, at the invitation of dr hab. Marek Szczepański from the Chair of Economic Sciences. On behalf of the Faculty of guest greeted Mrs. Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Management Assoc. Eng. Magdalena Wyrwicka, prof. PP.

 On 17 March this year. prof. H.D. Steinmeyer gave an open lecture on “Recent Developments in the German Pension System”, which was the starting point for an interesting discussion on the impact of the process of demographic aging and migration on the functioning of pension systems in Germany and other countries.

Visit prof. H.-D. Steinmeyer was the next phase lasting many years of scientific cooperation of our Faculty with the ENRSP.






A conference "Logistic around us 2016"

At the University of Economics in Poznan on 17-19.03.2016 held a conference "Logistics around us 2016".

The theme of it was: "Storage XXI. - Evolution or revolution?".

During the first day of the conference took place lectures by invited speakers, the winning papers. We would like to inform you that Barbara Dunin-Suligostowska and Joanna Sowa with Student Process Improvement took first place in the Competition Papers and won the cup Guardian Scientific SKNL AElogic prof. dr. Elżbiety Gołembskiej. The students presented "Storage of grain."






The First Logistics Day

On March 16, 2016 at the Conference Centre of Poznan University of Technology, The First Logistics Day took place.

The event was organized by Faculty of Engineering Management and Student Scientific Group "Logistics".

The aim of the event was to encourage invited students from technical schools to study the logistics at Poznan University of Technology.

The Logistics Day started at 10.00 a.m. from welcoming the participants by Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Management – Ph.D. Hanna Włodarkiewicz - Klimek.


The invited schools included:

• Technical school ZS1 in Swarzędz;

• Complex of Building Schools in Konin;

• Complex of Upper Secondary Schools in Krotoszyn;

• Complex of Economics Schools in Leszno;

• Complex of Vocational School No. 1 in Poznan.

After the official part, there was the first speech presented by the representative of Poznan cosmetics company – Filip Odważny: "Lean is fashionable. The concept of Lean Management at Beiersdorf Manufacturing Poznań."

The key point of the program was a logistic game led by Ph.D. Eng. Piotr Cyplik on the inventory management in the enterprise.

After the common part, the students went on a workshops run by members of the Scientific Association "Logistics". Each school has been divided into several smaller groups that took part in two of the following workshops:

  • Simulation of the production line,
  • Lean - as a tool to support the supply chain,
  • Production Planning for production schedule optimization,
  • Procurement, where participants realized tasks from the area of supplies.

At the end, approx. 3 p.m. participants received the certificates of participation, gifts for schools and prizes for the best results in the logistics game.


The event met with a very positive reception among the invited guests, what makes everyone very happy. Let’s meet on another edition of that event!
